The PLANEPRINT Eagle NG – Next Generation is a complete redesign that differs significantly from our popular Eagle model in many aspects. Built on the P5 design philosophy, it is compatible with all current 3D printers, including the Bambu A1 Mini or Prusa mini.
The aerodynamics have also been redesigned, featuring a new airfoil, updated wing and tail geometry, and more compact edge feathers for better everyday usability and increased stability.
The PLANEPRINT Eagle NG is very easy to print and assemble, requiring only a single carbon tube. When realistically painted, it closely resembles a real bird. Details such as the face are now much more precise, helping to achieve a lively, realistic finish.
Its flight characteristics are very forgiving, making stalls almost impossible. Thanks to the flatter wing profile, glide performance is excellent, and even with very weak thermals, it effortlessly gains altitude.
Similar to the original, the head can be quickly swapped out with four screws, allowing you to have both a glider and a motorized model in one! The wings are mounted tool-free, using self-printed TPU belts, just like in typical PLANEPRINT style.
The PLANEPRINT Eagle NG is slightly smaller than the Eagle but can easily be scaled up, for example, by 125%. In this case, the 8mm carbon tube is replaced with a 10mm one, resulting in a wingspan of 2,375 mm (93 inches). This requires some additional building experience, as manual adjustments (such as servo installation) are necessary. For this, a build volume of 250x250x250 mm is recommended.
