The L-39 Albatros is a Czechoslovakian-built jet trainer aircraft known for its sleek design and widespread use in military training programs. It's recognized for its agility and has served in various air forces worldwide since its introduction in the 1970s. It is also used as a civilian jet in races such as the Reno Air Race in its own class and slightly modified.
The Planeprint L39 is largely made of LW PLA and is sliced with the P5 profile. It is therefore compatible for most slicers. Special attention was paid to the construction of the landing gear, which is equipped with a new, very simple and effective suspension made of 1 mm steel wires that look like hydraulic hoses. This measure has an enormous damping effect and protects the aircraft very effectively during harder landings. The L39 is recommended for a 70 mm EDF with 6S battery, so takeoffs work even on short mowed grass runways.
Due to the aerobatic airfoil used, the flight characteristics are very neutral and, with correct use of the flaps, very balanced. The L39 pilot should in any case have sufficient experience with jet models.
