The Planeprint AERON is a high-performance glider based on the successful class of F3B and F3K competition models. It feels equally at home on the slope as it does on flat terrain, and the option of building it with a motor or as a pure glider makes it a flight model for a wide range of uses.
The Wing is elliptically designed and corresponds to the current state of aerodynamics. In contrast to the RISE with 4-flap wing - which is a super light thermal glider - the AERON has a much more stable construction (PROFILE_5_Gyroid) and higher wing load. It can be used faster and at higher wind speeds, but is not a hotliner. Acro maneuvers are no problem and its maneuverability also allows soaring on small slopes.
With a wingspan of 2300 mm and the demountable V-tail, it can be compactly disassembled and taken anywhere. Due to the relatively wide wing in the middle area, the stall and landing characteristics are absolutely easy and especially landings with tailwind on the slope are unproblematic. This and the optimized carbon reinforcement in the fuselage make the AERON very resistant for a 3D-printed model and suitable for everyday use.
The 4-flap-wing can be extensively programmed and we recommend several flight phases on Aileron and flaps to get the maximum performance.
