The term APEX – the highest point of a curve – reflects the technical maturity of our newest original jet design.
The PLANEPRINT APEX is an agile, fully 3D-printable sport EDF Jet, built for pilots who want serious aerobatic performance. Easy to build, easy to fly, and engineered with the details that actually matter.
Single-Servo Center Flap
The APEX uses a single centerline slotted flap instead of the conventional paired wing flaps. One servo does the job, and the tedious process of synchronizing two flap servos is completely eliminated. As a slotted flap, it generates significantly more lift than standard flap designs, a smarter solution that performs better and simplifies your build.
Integrated Inner Wings
The inner wing sections carrying the retractable main landing gear are fixed structural parts of the fuselage. Whether your gear is up or down, the airframe stays in one piece. That means faster setup at the field and confident transport – no fiddling, no alignment worries.
70 mm or 80 mm EDF – Your Choice
The APEX accepts either a 70 mm or 80 mm EDF unit. The rear thrust tube runs a larger internal diameter, with optimized inner tubes and screw-on exhaust nozzles for each drive combination. Nozzles with different exit diameters let you tune your power setup for maximum takeoff thrust or higher top speed, whatever suits your flying style.
Relaxed Wing Loading, Serious Aerobatics
At just 84 g/dm² wing loading, the APEX is not a speed machine, it’s an aerobatic machine. That exceptionally low wing loading for a jet translates into smooth, predictable handling and stress-free flight characteristics that let you focus on flying, not surviving.
Carbon-Reinforced Structure
The fuselage runs 6 mm carbon tubes along its full length; the wings use 10 mm tubes throughout. G-forces are not a concern.
Precise, Fail-Safe Linkages
All control surfaces use short, direct throws with bent steel wire pushrods exclusively. No clevises to pop loose, no plastic to fatigue. Precise, stiff, and reliable every time.
